GCFC NEWS

June 17, 2019

Hi!!! We are back. In last week's newsletter, you learned a little something about Dr. Sharkey and me (Dr. Alicia). This week I wanted to showcase our amazing new team!

Yes, I said new. We have gone through some changes in teammates lately, and it’s all good. Change is not always fun, but sometimes necessary.

Robin left to start a fun job helping with dolphin cruises. She loves the outdoors and enjoys getting plenty of the Alabama sun. Then Sheryl, who has been with me for 3.5 years, has retired and is now pursuing her network marketing career in Enagic and Young Living. Additionally, she wanted the freedom to visit her family. We are happy for both of them.

So, after many interviews and resumes, we made our selection. We hired 3 new, amazing, energetic, caring, passionate and trustworthy teammates. So here is a little about each one of them.

We are so proud and happy to introduce our new Chiropractic Technician, Cory LeDoux.

Cory will be taking x-rays, doing new patient vitals and thermal scans, and performing patient progress exams. He is also a certified nutritionist and registered dietitian, so he will be scheduling nutritional consultations as well! We are so excited to now offer this service for our patients to help them reach ALL their health goals!

Cory brings so much health and wellness knowledge to our team. What a perfect addition!!!

Here’s a little more about Cory. He was born in a little town called Mamou, LA, which is the Cajun Mardi Gras capital, but grew up down the road from there in Eunice, LA. After graduating from high school, he attended LSU. Soon afterwards, he moved to Lafayette where he completed his degree in Dietetics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He was accepted to the dietetic program in Hammond at North Oaks Medical Center (NOMC) in June of 2012, and graduated in June 2013. He then became a registered dietician in 2015.  He was a renal dietitian for over a year in Gulf Shores, Foley, Atmore, and Pensacola.  Cory is also an NASM certified personal trainer and has held a fitness nutritional specialist and corrective exercise specialist credential for 10 years.

Cory has a passion for life and health. He loves the mountains in the wintertime because snowboarding is one of his absolute favorite outdoor activities! He enjoys cooking and EATING, as well as riding bikes and going to the beach whenever possible. He believes that keeping it simple is just as relaxing, whether it’s having a cup of coffee at a coffee shop with a book, or watching a movie with his wife (who is a Gulf Shores native, born and raised!)

Fun fact: Cory has actually had the opportunity to deliver a baby!!

He is looking forward to the opportunity to help as many people as possible to be able to reach their nutritional/health goals through nutritional counseling and using true functional health concepts. Cory believes that "health is more than what you put into your body, it’s your environment, what you put on your body, as well as the quality of air that we breathe.”

How cool is that!! Please say hi to Cory the next time you are at the office. Also, if you would like to schedule a nutritional consult, he is taking new clients.

Chiropractic Assistant

Brittney Early

Brittney Early is very excited to be working with you and the rest of the community to promote health and wellness! She was born and raised in Orlando, FL and moved to Pensacola in 2014 to finish her Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion at UWF. She completed her internship with the Escambia County School District's Center for Health and Wellness where she fell in love with health coaching and holistic health as a whole. Since that time, she has been looking for the right place to work and call home, which has brought her here to Gulf Coast Family Chiropractic!

She is excited to begin her career as a Chiropractic Assistant, taking care of all of your needs at the front desk and beyond. Over time, she looks forward to learning and growing with the company and being able to help with treatments, Young Living information, etc. She would love to obtain her health coaching certification in order to better serve the community.

While working is a huge part of life, Brittney fully believes in maintaining a good work/home life balance! She stays busy with her baby girl, husband, and stepson (or bonus son as she prefers to call him). She also has two dogs, a cat, two goats, four ducks, and 50+ chickens! Orlando didn't give her much experience in taking care of farm animals but she has learned so much and loves it!

Brittney also loves the beach, cooking/eating, and football! She actually played football when she was in high school! At one point she almost moved to Pittsburgh to pursue a degree and career as an athletic trainer.

It seems that her education, passions, and work experience have all led her on a direct path to GCFC. She is excited to be here and meet you all!  Brittney will be located at the front desk, assisting patients with their family care plans, or managing the many responsibilities she handles during the day.

Kay Ferrell

Front Desk Administrator

We are excited to have Kay join our team, and no, there is no relation to Dr. Alicia although they share the Ferrell name.  Please be sure to stop by the front desk and give her a warm welcome! Kay has been a patient for over 4 years. And we are so blessed to have her as part of our team.

Kay was born in Foley, AL and has grown up here on the Gulf Coast. She enjoys nature and being outdoors. She believes that all of God's creation is beautiful, and it should be respected and cared for. She is a mom of two teenage girls and they are her world. Every step that she has made over the last 16 years has been motivated by the desire to give them the best life possible.

She has been receiving chiropractic adjustments for the last 4 years. Her girls also get adjusted. They all love it and have experienced amazing results.

She also loves Young Living essential oils and the opportunity to work with her favorite diamond leader to learn and grow. She finds that being surrounded by amazing leaders is thrilling.

Kay is so excited to begin a new chapter of her career at Gulf Coast Family Chiropractic. She hopes to grow to new levels in her personal wellness and to be a good example to others striving to do the same. She truly believes that chiropractic has saved her life and she looks forward to serving the GCFC community.

Kay will be the friendly face of the front desk. She will likely be the one who answers the phone and handles all the adjustment scheduling.

We are super excited to have these amazing new team members on our team. We are truly blessed.
